Goal Setting and Focusing On Your Goals

This is the time of year when many posts are written around Christmas and the new year. Most people have their new years resolution formulating in their mind. It might be giving up smoking, or losing weight or saving for a holiday. Unfortunately this is quite often the only time that some people set goals.

Setting goals, dream building (oh, did that make some of you cringe? I cringed once or twice when I heard that term!) future planning, it all means the same. Written down goals is what all high achievers do, yet for some unknown reason we mere mortals feel it is not necessary. Do we feel that concreting them on paper we have to follow through, otherwise we have failed? Do we fear the commitment?

It is at this point we have to decide how serious we are - is it just an idle wish or is it truly a goal? If we are serious about achieving our desires we must be definite in both intent and application. This must start with a clearly defined and written goal. This will provide the target for our subconscious mind to assist us in achieving our goal.

I’m sure most people have seen ‘The Secret’ by now and heard all about the Law Of Attraction. I have some friends who made me watch it (and I’m glad I did) but they are the ones who think it is trite now. It saddens me when it is the very same people who keep doing what they are doing and achieving the same result, but expecting a different one.

So the new year is approaching! Internet Marketing is going to be astronomical. The business opportunities at our fingertips never ceases to amaze me. Every page we turn on the web is yet another money making extravaganza. Why don’t we all write down just how much of it we want, and when! Start setting goals, the how will follow. . .

Link Exchanges to Increase Traffic

Link exchanges is one way you can trade links to increase traffic to your site. Every link that points to your site is another opportunity for someone to find your site, and of course that is the name of the game.

The search engines also do link analysis as part of their algorithms so the more links to your site the more your site ranking increases.If the sites linking to yours have high page ranks, then your site also naturally increases.

There are many ways that you can get links. Some may be reciprocal links, one-way links or natural links. Link exchange programs are a good start in setting up links to your site.

Reciprocal links are easier to get because you can request a link exchange from a site and offer a link from your site to theirs. The link goes both ways. If you request a link exchange, and it is approved it is very time consuming going back to all the sites you have links with to see if they are still upholding their end of the bargain.

A one-way link is of course the most beneficial as far as page rankings go. The search engines see that as a positive towards the site having quality content. Usually when someone links to your page it is because they feel that their visitors have something to gain by visiting your site, as it possibly contains quality information. This is very
complimentary and a search engine bonus.

A one-way link is usually more long term, as quite often a reciprocal link exchange may be dropped, especially if the person no longer feels the need for your link. (An unfortunate fact of life!)

It is hard work obtaining good quality natural links, but very beneficial to your link popularity. People will constantly return to your site and link to it if they are getting something in return by coming back. I don’t mean free goodies, although people do like getting something for nothing, but I do mean good quality content. Improve the quality of your website and you improve your chances in obtaining good quality links in return.

Link exchanges are an excellent way of lifting your site rankings and we all want that!
