Your Sales Letter Headline is Everything

Writing winning headlines is an important factor for creating your sales letters. To have a copywriter do it for you is expensive, so why not do it yourself? If you spend time doing a few of the basics you can write that ‘killer’ sales letter.

We all know, even from our own experience, that something that grabs our attention, ignites our curiosity. It doesn’t matter what sort of marketing you are into, the headline of your advertised article has to get the attention of your reader.

The headline is what will make you a successful marketer, because ultimately you want the customer to read what it is you are offering them. Naturally not everyone will respond to your headline in the same way. This is because you cannot know where that person’s head is at, at that precise point in time. For example, you may be advertising a fitness program and send out a headline reading,’How to get fit and stay healthy!’to a person who just won a bodybuilding competition.

You have to catch the attention of who you are targeting. Make it sound as though it was written just for them. Have you ever read an ad and felt as though it was written just for you? When a headline hits a nerve or catches your attention, you keep reading.

Your headline is everything. Don’t ever think you are spending too much time coming up with a headline.

I remember reading that you should spend as much time creating your headline as in completing the body of the letter. You may have the best product, the best sales letter and the best price, but if your prospects don’t read, you don’t have a sale.
So spend more time writing that ‘killer’ headline than the letter itself. It’s that important!

If your sales letters aren’t performing at present, rewrite the headline and track the results before you change the letter content. You may be nicely surprised!
