Starting a Viral Marketing program

The benefits of Viral Marketing are that it spreads very rapidly. If you are launching a new product or campaign you naturally want it to be seen by a large number of people.

Tips for starting a Viral Marketing campaign.

  • Submit an e-book. You can write your own, or pay a freelancer to write one for you. Or you can purchase the branding rights to an e-book, and rebrand it with your name and links in it. Give away your e-book for free to your visitors. Then allow your visitors to give it away. Your e-book will begin to spread throughout your niche, advertising you and your links all over the place.
  • Write articles and submit them to article directories. Give people permission to reprint them or post them to their websites, e-zines, newsletters, email campaigns etc. Include your resource box and promotion links at the bottom of each article. Many people use article sites to find information to give to their visitors. If your article is interesting it will be widely used and therefore your advertising campaign will be off to a flying start.
  • Build a reputation. If you are marketing in a particular niche, become a trusted and reliable source. Comment on blogs and in forums, sharing your knowledge and building relationships. Once you are accepted then you can introduce your product or service. You won’t be considered opportunistic if you behave in a professional manner and have built and earned people’s trust and respect.
  • Giveaway your product for free, or for a very low cost. Starting off like this could turn out to be extremely profitable after the initial launch.

Viral marketing is an excellent tool for advertising your business. Your business will not grow without using some form of advertising.

The best form of advertising and its viral effect, is the recommendation of a product by a trusted source, be it a friend or family member.

No amount of flashy advertising will be as effective as someone you know telling you how good something is. Make sure whatever it is you are promoting is good enough to be spoken about.

Word of mouth is the fastest form of Viral Marketing. Make it good, bad viral marketing works just as fast.
